Terms
The agreement between you and Copywork. Every window, limit and timescale below is the one the software enforces today. In effect from 23 September 2026.
The agreement
These terms are the agreement between you and the company that operates Copywork, which is a studio for saving advertising and marketing work, annotating it, analysing it and writing your own copy alongside it. We call that the Service. Creating an account, or using the Service at all, means you accept them.
They work alongside the privacy page, which covers what is collected and how long it is kept, and the sub-processors page, which names every company that touches your data.
Who may use it
You need to be old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live, and you need to be using the Service on your own behalf or with authority to bind the organisation you sign up for. Age is not verified at sign-up, so this is something you are confirming rather than something we check.
You may not use the Service if we have previously closed your account for breaking these terms.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping your password to yourself. Passwords are stored hashed and cannot be read back by anyone, including us, so a password you lose is reset rather than recovered.
You are emailed when a sign-in comes from a device we have not seen before, and when your account details change. If one of those arrives and it was not you, change your password and write to hello@copyworkstudio.com.
Inside an organisation, owners and admins control who is a member and what each member can reach. An owner can remove your access to that organisation's work at any time. Work in your personal workspace is yours alone unless you share it.
Your work stays yours
You own everything you put into Copywork. The files you upload, the pages you capture, your annotations, your written copy and its revisions are yours, and nothing on this page transfers any of it to us.
To run the Service we need permission to do the obvious mechanical things with it: store it, back it up, process it into the forms the product shows you (page renders, thumbnails, extracted text, transcripts of speech in audio and video), show it back to you and to the people you share it with, and publish it when you choose to publish it. That permission is limited to running the Service for you, and it ends when you delete the work or close your account.
Your work is not used to train models, for benchmarking or for measuring quality. It is not sold, rented or handed to advertisers. Deleting something deletes what was derived from it too.
Copywork itself, including the software, the interface and the name, stays ours. Using the Service does not give you a licence to copy it.
What you may not do
Copywork is built for studying other people's advertising, which makes what you are entitled to keep a real question rather than a legal reflex. Upload only material you are allowed to store, and use what you save the way copyright law where you live allows.
- No illegal material, and nothing that infringes someone else's rights.
- No malware, and nothing that attacks or degrades the Service or the sites you capture.
- No working around allowances, rate limits or payment, and no sharing one account between people who should each have one.
- No reselling the Service or passing your access to someone outside your organisation.
- No using someone else's account, and no trying to reach work that is not yours.
- No capturing pages you are barred from capturing, and nothing that breaks the law where you are.
If you find a security problem, tell us at hello@copyworkstudio.com before telling anyone else, and do not go looking through other people's work to prove it.
Plans, payment and renewal
The plans and what each one includes are on the pricing page. Prices are in US dollars and tax is calculated at checkout. Payments are taken by Stripe. Card details go to Stripe directly and are never stored by Copywork.
Only the free plan can be bought today. The paid plans are built and priced but not on sale yet. When they open, a paid plan will renew by itself at the end of each period, monthly or annually, at the price in force when it renews, until you cancel.
The free plan is free. Its allowances are one-time totals rather than a monthly refill, so they do not reset, and going over one stops you adding more rather than charging you.
A price change gets you 60 days' notice and takes effect at your next renewal, never in the middle of a period you have paid for. You can cancel instead of paying the new price.
If a plan's allowances go up, you get the increase straight away. If they go down, the reduction does not apply to you while you stay on the plan you are on. Switching plan, in either direction, moves you to the current version of the plan you switch to.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from your billing settings, which opens Stripe's own screens. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and your access continues until then. Nothing is deleted because you cancelled: the account drops to the free plan's limits and your work stays where it is.
If a payment fails, nothing changes for 7 days. You get two emails in that window, the second naming the date. After it, the account falls back to free limits rather than locking. Signing in, reading your own work, exporting it and deleting it are never taken away, in any state, for any reason.
Refunds
A charge that was duplicated, taken in error or caused by a fault on our side is refunded in full as soon as it is found, without you having to ask.
Otherwise: if you ask within 14 days of a monthly charge, or within 30 days of an annual charge, and have not really used the period, the whole charge is refunded. Not a part of it, and not a credit. The annual window is longer on purpose, because the amount is larger. Whether a period was really used is judged by a person, and the default answer is yes, you get the refund.
There are four things that stop a refund, and they are the only four:
- The charge has not settled yet.
- It has already been refunded.
- You have disputed it with your bank, in which case your bank decides instead of us.
- The window above has closed.
Ask by writing to hello@copyworkstudio.com. Outside those windows, a refund is at our discretion, and asking costs nothing.
Suspension, restriction and appeals
An account can be restricted automatically when it trips a safety limit, such as sustained rate limiting, repeatedly rejected uploads or captures, malware found in an upload, a runaway cost, or a cluster of linked accounts behaving as one. A restriction lasts 24 hours and lifts itself. It pauses new work; it does not touch what you have already saved.
An account can be suspended for three reasons and no others: an unpaid subscription, abuse, or a deletion you asked for that is still in its grace period. Under a billing suspension you keep reading and exporting your own work. An abuse suspension is the one that removes reading, and even then you can still sign in, reach billing and file an appeal.
If you think a restriction or a suspension is wrong, appeal at /studio/appeal. A person reads every appeal and answers within 5 working days. We can end an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, and if we do you will be told why and can appeal that too.
You can close your own account whenever you like. That starts a 30-day window in which your workspace is suspended but still readable to you and the deletion can be called off. After it, the purge runs. Deleting your own user does not delete organisations you belong to, and you cannot delete yourself while you are the last owner of one. What survives, and for how long, is on the privacy page.
What we do not promise
The Service is provided as it is. There is no guaranteed uptime, no service credit for an outage, no promised support response time except the appeal window above, and no security certification or external audit, because none of those exists yet. There is no separate staging environment either, which is a real risk and is named here rather than hidden.
Anything the product works out about your copy is a tool for your judgement, not advice and not a verdict. Extracted text, transcripts and analysis can be wrong. Do not rely on them for a legal, financial or compliance decision.
Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. Copywork is a studio, not a backup service, and the deletion windows on the privacy page are what they are.
If something goes wrong
If we break this agreement, what you can claim from us is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem. On the free plan that is nothing, which is the honest consequence of the Service being free.
We are not liable for work you lost that you had no copy of, for money you did not make, or for anything that follows on indirectly from a fault rather than being the fault itself.
Nothing here limits anything that cannot legally be limited, such as our own fraud, and consumer law where you live may give you rights this page cannot take away.
Which law applies
This agreement and any dispute about it are decided under the law of the State of Delaware in the United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of Delaware are where a dispute is heard. If you are a consumer somewhere that gives you the right to bring a claim at home, this does not take that away.
Changes to these terms
These terms change when the product does, and they are meant to describe what the software does today rather than what is planned. If a change affects you, you will be told inside the product or by email before it takes effect, and continuing to use the Service after that is how you accept it. If you would rather not, cancel and the refund rules above still apply.
A correction that does not change what you get, such as fixing a typo or naming a number that was already enforced, takes effect when it is published.
